I got it when I was doing the garden, or when I was out jogging. You may hear someone say, when they are asked how they got a certain innovative idea. Ideas generally come from anywhere at anytime. However, the mind that can easily develop ideas and spot opportunities is cultivated. Those who know this truth know how detrimental it can be to one's future if he or she keeps on wasting their time.
A majority of people tend to willingly waste their time. Literally, sitting around and doing NOTHING. They enjoy pleasing themselves with activities that are of no or less positive brain stimulation development such as watching Tv, fictional series, playing video games or continuously scrolling social media.
And this is a disease that a lot of the "working class", the ones who have stable income suffer from. Because they make an income they tend to see no value in doing. Such as acquiring a skill, creating a product, or even reading to develop their mind. Streaming videos and watching TV is all they do when they aren't at their jobs.
This is a way of entertainment or killing time, so they say. But in fact it is literally a waste of one's time, which can potentially have an impact in how one's future pans out.
Do not get me wrong. It is not entirely wrong to entertain oneself as long there are limitations to it. For those of us who wish to have better lives and success, we ought to manage and be conscious of our time spend on these "killing time" activities which yield no personal development. No matter how good a certain thing can be, too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
Being aware of our time keeps us in check as we know that the hour that I can willingly waste can potentially be an hour that can turn into my years wasted. Then years later I have nothing to show for my living years, only the retirement fund for those who are lucky, even so, having that little money before you reach your death bed can never supersede having done something worthwhile and of value that which you can be proud of.
Now imagine those who do not even have the luck of having that retirement money, they literally end up with nothing yet they wasted their whole lives doing nothing. The results of nothing are nothing.
We cannot continue being the generation that points to our children when we are asked of the great things we have done in our lives.
The fact is, that willingness to literally waste that hour, tomorrow will be two hour, next week four, and so forth. Before you know it, you have wasted your years doing nothing. Doing nothing diminishes the possibility of getting ideas that can change your life and the ability of spotting opportunities that might exist before your eyes.
Therefore, before you waste that hour doing nothing, know that it can turn into weeks of doing nothing, into months of doing nothing, and into years of doing nothing. Before you know it, you have wasted your years, and have nothing to show for the life who've lived apart from your memories. Provided you do not get dementia.
