No one wants to do the mandate and boring tasks, life is short after all; why waste time doing the tasks you don't enjoy? Because they make you extraordinary.
An ordinary commoner would choose all the fun and easy stuff because he focuses on instant gratification. He gives in to his emotions, he does what he feels at that moment with less regard for what the next day holds. We see this in the number of people who are impulsive in their decisions such as impulsive buying.
But to be extraordinary is to act contrary to the ordinary many. That includes doing all the boring stuff that the ordinary avoids.
Many of the things that have the most financial gain that many seek to have are things that are seemingly boring and hard. Then most people avoid them. The few who do those tasks often gain enormous rewards for doing the so-called hard and boring things.
Look at all those who are deemed extraordinary. They did the most 'hard' things, some went the extra mile in doing what many do, and some fully engrained themselves in the so-called 'boring' things. Because they are willing to do all that, they eventually become extraordinary in the spaces they are in.
"Opportunity is missed by most people
because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."
Thomas A. Edison
Being extraordinary is not a HUGE thing, it merely means as an ordinary person, do a little bit extra than the rest. Or do the opposite of what the ordinary would ordinarily do.
Some tasks take time to reap the rewards of engaging in them, and others seem to have no rewards. But the results you desire eventually come.
The downside of doing all the fun and easy things is that everyone else does them too, which decreases the odds of success at that.
For example, everyone wants to be a DJ, a young man wants to be a soccer player, a young woman wants to be an actress, and a wannabe businessman prints T-shirts. These are tasks that thousands if not millions of other ordinary people think of doing or are already doing. Therefore, the odds of success for each individual are greatly reduced.
However, when engaging in tasks that only a few ordinary people are interested in, the odds of success are bigger in contrast to the easy things.
To be extraordinary does not mean you will always have extraordinary financial gain, but you will always be an extraordinary individual. Which will surely place you above the ordinary commoners.
In the social or professional hierarchy you are in, you will always remain above the many ordinary who avoid doing boring and hard things. If you do not want to remain a commoner your whole life, look around you and start doing the things that many see as too much work and boring, then excel at it.
