As you go through life, if you have not encountered some sort of pain and suffering, expect it to happen because suffering is a part of human life's journey.
This is clearly detailed by one of the great philosophers, Friedrich Nietzsche in his philosophy doctrine. In one of his famous quotes, he states:
“To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.”
Suffering is one of those elements of life we all encounter. Our personal understanding of what it means to suffer may differ based on our lived experiences and cultural backgrounds. Whatever suffering means to you, it is a part of a human being's life journey.
In respect to Nietzshe's philosophy, he implores that we should not seek to eliminate suffering but embrace it, and use it as a means to personal growth.
But because many do not know this, they see suffering in their lives as some sort of punishment and some never ever get out of it. They spend their lives crying and asking questions such as "Why me" and "Why is this happening to me". Then they get into that rabbit hole that they may never come out of simply because they do not understand that suffering is a part of human life's journey.
Some have never experienced pain and suffering. But that only means they will experience it later in their lives. This is not to wish bad upon people, I am merely putting forth how and what life is, and how it generally pans out.
Suffering is a source of guiding power to find our superpower, revealing our inner strengths, resilience, and prowess. It is an element of preparation for what's about to come in one's life. Hence it always builds character.
But because the pain may be too much to bear, we tend not to see this when we are in our life's suffering phase. Many get deep into it and accept it as their identity when in fact it's a phase. A phase that reveals a man unto himself. A catalyst to enlightenment.
That is why we see a lot of people accepting whatever they are going through as their identity, as a definition of their whole lives. This is because they only seek a life of peace and happiness and expect nothing else, which is all we need, granted.
But that is not how life normally works. It can throw you a curve ball at any time. Especially at a time when you think you got it all, that is when the curveball of suffering may come to visit you.
The onus would be on you on how you embrace it and grab all the lessons and opportunities it comes with.
You get tested the most when it's time for you to elevate. Don't break.
All great men and women have testimonies of their suffering, hence they are great. They suffered but managed to see their suffering as a catalyst to the great human beings they are today.
Wise men and women see suffering as a part of their journey, but more importantly, as a catalyst to their enlightenment that reveals their true selves to themselves.
To see the greatness of life, see life's pain and suffering as a catalyst to your promised land. Because whether you like it or not, suffering is a part of human life. It is all up to an individual on how they view it, and how they exploit it into clearly guiding them to who they wish to become and what they desire to have.
