Life has its ups and downs, twists and turns. And often, we get caught up in all that whirlwind and react to whatever transpires. But what if you stop responding and reacting to all that and start approaching each day with intention?
Life is unpredictable, but one can attempt to make it comfortable and direct it to specific outcomes. This requires one to stop being reactive and be active.
Many find themselves in situations they have no control over and stay there with no recourse, simply because they "can't do anything about it". Granted, some circumstances and situations are out of our control but what if we intentionally choose; with conviction to approach each day with a specific intention - to live, and not to merely react?
That would surely make things a lot easier to cope with and provide a mindset that seeks recourse actions to circumstances that many cannot find solutions to.
Take a look at toddlers and pre-scholars, they are the epitome of what it is to live life. No matter what happens around them they do not react, they will always find a way to LIVE.
But because you are older, you cannot avoid the trials and tribulations that come with living, but what you can emulate from children is to purely live. For you meaning, to intentionally approach life with an active mindset.
Many are depressed because they are too reactive - they react to the situation rather than act upon the situation.
The main difference between reacting and acting is: If you 'React', that would mean you would be subjectively responding based on an impulse taken from an emotional interpretation of the situation. But if you 'Act', your response is based more objectively on the issue, after reviewing the situation and analyzing the task and the risk involved.
With this simple distinction, it is clear; that those who act will always live a much fulfilling life than those who react. Therefore, it is always wise to refrain from reacting, and always choose to act. That is the starting point of living life instead of merely existing.
