There are always shared fundamental basics to what life is and how it ought to be lived. But those are just fundamentals. Beyond that there are no rules or a manual as to how you should live yours.
We go through life as individuals and we gain unique personal experiences. Those experiences are our primary guide as to where our lives are headed and how to navigate through life as a whole.
I have witnessed some people boldly stating how life 'should be' lived purely based on how they lived theirs. This is flawed in many ways.
Your own experience is unique to you, and therefore how you see and work through life is only specific to you. The next person may experience it completely different from yours. As such, how can one tell you how to perceive your own life?
They do not have the means to. By means I am referring to the fact that they may not have a shared experience as yours. What worked for them may not work for you.
But many tend to act as if life has a manual to it. When in fact it does not.
The only manual that will guide you to your enlightenment and fulfilment is your lived personal experience. And this applies to old rational adults - those who have cognitively developed enough to assess and analyze their own lives and the world as a whole.
One's personal experience is unique to them for a reason. For that reason, I cannot come to you and tell you where to go when in fact you already have your own navigator that is uniquely formed for you.
So, to fully grow in one's life holistically, one has to analyze their personal experiences and use that as their navigation through life - for that is the ultimate guide to one's purpose and fulfilment.
