The more you evolve, the more others will say you have changed. And that "change" others may perceive unto you, may make you to be no longer cool to them, and that is okay. But the critical thing is that you would have evolved.
Let us distinguish between evolving and changing.
Change refers to any kind of change, like an abrupt change that can just happen. Evolving means a particular change that happens gradually usually as a result of natural or internal processes.
Many fail to see evolution, they only see change. That is why some people may say to you "You have changed" referring to the change in a negative light, when in fact you have evolved. When you evolve for the betterment of your life, no matter the negative perceptions that may come from those who say you have changed should never be a matter of concern to you.
Some want you to stay the same because of the benefits they reap from you, such as using your kindness to their advantage whenever they can.
When you evolve and begin putting yourself first and not allowing people to play over your head - negative comments and perceptions about you will start coming, and they'd come from those whom you "offend" by becoming a better version of yourself. And that will make you uncool.
But that is Okay.
Rather be uncool than not being a better person for the development of your self-worth, emotional maturity, and mental peace.
You ought to be willing to evolve, and your evolution may offend or upset some of those close to you. They may shut you out and probably cast aspersions on you. This is to be expected when you evolve. Therefore, be willing and expect to be uncool.
It is better to be uncool than try to stay cool when your life is stagnant while your age is moving.
