Human behaviour can be predictable and influenced. This is made possible by various social and psychological studies that have been done since the dawn of time. There are some psychological tricks that a person can use to either make their interactions with others more fun and easier, or to purely influence others.
Here are five psychological tricks you can use but may probably don't know:
1. Stay calm when someone raises their voice over you
When a loudmouth acts out it’s usually in anger, and our behaviors can sometimes unintentionally provoke that. The feelings of anger usually quickly subside and guilt will set in to the loudmouth, and may feel that his or her behavior of raising the voice is unattractive and make them look stupid. They will likely tone it down to your level.
2. Sit close to the aggressor to avoid attack
If you’re heading into a meeting and you know you’ll be in the room with an aggressive person, you know the discussion may become heated, or you may be subjected to negative criticism, sit next to that person. You may feel uncomfortable and awkward, but you won’t be the only one. Close proximity is known to make people uncomfortable which will lessen the level of aggression they plan to execute.
3. Create conversation to be helped without asking
If you need help carrying something, try talking to the person while handing them whatever it is. They will most likely not even realize you’re handing them something and they will just take it, and just merely focus on the conversation.
4. If you want your lie to be more believable
Add an embarrassing detail to your story. People generally do not speak about their embarrassing moments, so if you are going to add an embarrassing moment, that influences people to believe you are telling the truth as people generally do not speak of their embarrassing moments.
5. If you want someone to say Yes to you
While asking a question, start doing a little bit of nodding as you make the request when you want an affirmative answer from the next person. This trick is often used by restaurant employees to make guests buy more food.
Hopefully these tricks will help you in your day to day life and aid you into getting into positions and situations that are favorable to you.
