One discouraging thing for many is to know they suck at something, and moreover, be explicitly seen by others that you suck at it. However, everybody sucks until they no longer do.
No one became great at something overnight. At every skill that some excel at, they started off as rookies and amateurs.
Being an amateur means almost all the things you'd be doing, you will make mistakes, errors, and flaws. It becomes worse when what you do is shared with the public where your flaws and errors can be seen by anyone.
The fear of being seen as mediocre and not being good at what you do is the primary element that puts people off from starting anything new.
This fear has hindered many from doing things they should be doing, or even doing things that could change their lives for the better forever.
To be great is to know that you will suck at something until you don't. It is to intentionally get rid of the fear of 'what will others say'. It is to do whatever you need to do until you are at a level you desire to be. Irrespective of how it would make you look or feel in the initial stages of your endeavor.
The secret is in doing it over and over until you perfect it. Whether you get judged for it and others negatively comment on the errors and flaws you make, you ought to keep on perfecting your craft and skill. That is how you become great.
You have to be willing to fail, at times in front of people. So long as you take valuable lessons from those failures.
Every specialist and veteran started as an amateur. They sucked until they didn't, so will you.
First, you have to frame your mind to never give in to the fear of 'what will others say' when and if you fail. Work to perfection, irrespective of the uncomfortable and unfavorable factors that may come with whatever you aim to accomplish.
