Beauty with no brains. I am sure you have heard that statement before. But contrary to this belief, beautiful people are more likely to be intelligent than those who aren't as attractive.
In referring to beauty, I am talking about the literal physical attractiveness of an individual.
In recent years, with technological and product developments, anyone can make themselves 'beautiful' by creating fake physical features and using make-up that may enhance a particular physical feature. And this is primarily why the beauty with the brains narrative has been prevalent.
Going back in history, numerous research studies such as this one from Science Direct: https://bit.ly/3y9xiGK prove that there's a positive correlation between beauty and intelligence.
Generally, successful males will always choose to mate with the more beautiful female. And as proven, a higher IQ results in more chances of success. I am talking about hard-earned success here, not the success through cadre BEE tenders and crime and corruption we witness daily.
Hard-earned success correlates with higher IQ. And therefore, if you are successful you have the privilege of choosing the most beautiful partner to mate with. Sometimes, the good-looking partners choose you.
The outcome of this is an offspring that has genetically gained beauty and intelligence genes from both parents.
Because those (both males and females) with a higher IQ choose to mate with other high IQ individuals and those who are physically attractive, that leaves a void for those who do not have these qualities. Then who do they mate with?
They mate with one another.
And this creates a bigger disparity between beauty with brains and no beauty with no brains.
But we live in a world where this can be somewhat bypassed. We find ourselves in a fake world, where beauty can be bought. But unfortunately, intelligence cannot be. Hence the most good-looking people are prevalent, yet they aren't as sharp as we would expect them to be.
In addition to why intelligence is correlated with beauty - intelligent people tend to take care of themselves better. They watch what they eat, and they train and exercise to keep in good shape. Then they become way more physically attractive, which is an addition to their genetically earned high IQ.
So, all I am saying is that there is a correlation between beauty and the brain.
Therefore, beautiful (physically attractive) individuals are more likely to be intelligent than those who aren't as physically attractive. The key word here is LIKELY.
There are individuals who may not be as physically attractive but are way more intelligent than all the beautiful ones. I am merely referring to the likelihood.
The key takeaway here is that the more naturally good-looking a person is, the more likely they are to be intelligent. What they do with their intelligence is up to them, some never utilise it, and some misuse it.
Before you say someone has a beauty with no brains, try to find out whether that beauty is genetic or not. That may give you a correct assessment of that person.
