Adopting A Rookie Mindset As Your Advantage Over Competition

In a competitive world, the ones who sustain their rookie mindsets even when they have reached their pinnacle, are the ones that get to keep staying at the top.

When we start on a new journey, on a new task, a new project, etc, we always come with the rookie mindset, the mindset to win at all costs, having the willingness to learn, having an open mind, and being open to new challenges.

However, when we get to where we had aimed, or have acquired enough experience in the tasks we do, we tend to become complacent and lose the rookie mentality we started off with. And that is the cause of downfall for many.

That is why the new kid on the block can just come and easily sweep out the number one because they simply got too comfortable at their position, had an authority mindset, and let loose of their belts.

The most successful competitors, always maintain a rookie mindset. This is evident in athletes such as Lebron James, Floyd Mayweather, Christiano Ronaldo, and many more.

To successfully compete with those who might've reached the top but gotten comfortable - the best strategy to compete with them is to intentionally maintain a rookie mindset. That is a competitive advantage.

Knowing this will accelerate you to means of easily being at the top of wherever you are trying to reach. However, the tactic is to not lose your rookie mindset if and when you, yourself get to your desired destination.

Because once you lose that, the same advantage you utilized will also be executed against you by the new competition that may come in your trade, market space, or field of expertise.

So, to be the best and remain the best, maintain the same mentality you had when you were a nobody and had nothing. Even when you have everything. That is what will set you apart from the rest - the ones that came before you and those who started with you.

"With the right mindset, we can't lose. We either practice what we've learned or we learn what we need to practice"
